BNPD RECEIVES MRAP VEHICLE THROUGH MILITARY SURPLUS PROGRAM
The Benton Police Department recently received a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP), or Armored Rescue Vehicle (ARV), vehicle through the U.S. Military 1033 Program. The 1033 Program allows law enforcement to pay a small annual cost to be able to receive access to excess military equipment at no further charge to the agency.
Law enforcement agencies in Saline County took in 963 pounds of prescription medicine during Operation Medicine Cabinet IX held on April 26th. Agencies that participated were Alexander Police Department, Benton Police Department, Bryant Police Department, and Haskell Police Department.
On 4/22/14, detectives with the Benton Police Department took a report of a possible sexual assault involving a female juvenile victim. During the investigation, evidence indicated that a sexual assault had taken place and a suspect was named.
